We Hear From Brides

How do I know what hair and makeup style to choose?

There are several factors that you want to take into consideration when choosing the perfect hair and makeup for your wedding day.

These Include:
Your Personal Style
Your Personal Preferences
Your Comfort Level
Your Wedding Dress Style
Your Overall Wedding Style or Theme
Your Wedding Location & Time
Your Face Shape
Your Hair Color, Length, and Texture

We are, of course, here to help. Before we even get started, we always do a complete style consultation with all of our brides to help determine the perfect style that will compliment your face shape, accent your wedding style and dress and look beautiful both in person and in photos.

Will my hair and makeup last all day?

This is one of the biggest concerns that we hear and we have you covered. Because all we do is brides, we have had years of trial and error to find the perfect products and develop the perfect techniques to guarantee long-lasting results without being heavy or cakey!

When it comes to long-lasting wedding hair, we will take into consideration your hair length, texture, and thickness to first, determine the best styles to ensure long-lasting results. Once we narrow down the perfect style, our techniques, and products are all designed to keep your hairstyle in place all day without having to rely on an overabundant use of hairspray. This ensures that your style will last all day without looking dry and crunchy.

Will my hair and makeup look good in person AND in photos?

We understand that this is a concern, especially if you do not normally wear a lot of makeup.

It is true that makeup that is a little more defined is going to look better in photos but we also understand that it is just as important that you look and feel beautiful and confident in person as well.

The key to achieving the perfect balance between looking good in person and in photos is first to assess each individual client’s personal style to determine exactly where their comfort level is. Using this information along with the right products and techniques will ensure that we strike the perfect balance between you looking and feeling beautiful in person and having your photos look flawless!

Should I wear false lashes?

False lashes can have a dramatic effect on the overall look of your wedding day makeup and we do recommend that our brides consider wearing false lashes on their wedding day.

That being said, we understand that everyone is different and false lashes may not be right for you based on your personal preferences and comfort level.

At your makeup trial, we will consult with you to determine if false lashes are the best choice for you and if so, what are the appropriate style, length, and thickness for your eye shape and desired look. If you are not comfortable with or have never worn false lashes, the trial is also the perfect time to try them out to see what you think.

Should I do airbrush makeup?

There are certain pros and cons to wearing airbrush makeup and every makeup artist has their own personal opinion.

Through our many years of experience and trial and error, our opinion is that airbrush makeup should be a thing of the past.

The biggest problem with airbrush makeup is that it has a drier look and feel to it than traditional makeup. Our personal style at First Blush Beauty is a more clean, natural look and we find that hard to achieve with airbrush makeup.

The second problem is that it is harder to control the look of the foundation so you run the risk of your makeup looking uneven or streaky.

Airbrush had its time back in the day and was all the rage but with a wider variety of makeup and foundations options that we now have to choose from that will give you the flawless look of airbrush without the heaviness, there is really no reason to choose airbrush makeup in our opinion.

We hope that we have answered some of your concerns and you are feeling more confident about acheiving the perfect wedding day look.

If you have more questions or concerns, we are always here to help!
